Clean and chop one head of cauliflower. Steam cauliflower either in a steamer or in a pan with a little bit of water and a tight fitting lid.
You will need one chopped onion, small handful of curry leaves and 2 serrano chillies chopped
Add two cans of sweet peas drained. You will have to use canned peas in this dish because it gives you the desired texture. Frozen peas will not work.
You will need about a half cup of dessicated coconut. This is shredded dried coconut available at all Indian Grocers.
Heat 2tbs of oil. Once heated add 1tbs each of mustard seed and cumin seed. Also add a piece of cinnamon if you have it. Do not add powdered cinnamon. Allow the seeds to splutter in the oil(do not burn or you will get a bitter taste),
Now onions, green chilies and curry leaves and saute'. Once onions soften a little add a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric, salt and red chili flakes to taste.
Add the 1/2 cup of dessicated coconut. Fry coconut with onions for 1-2 minutes.
Add the steamed cauliflower and two cans of green peas.
Mix and saute' in the pan for a few minutes. Check your salt here to make sure you have enough for the peas and cauliflower. Eat with rice. Enjoy.
